FAQ |
|
• How does the Linkword Method work?
The Linkword© Method takes advantage of the way the adult
brain functions. Courses are designed to rapidly build vocabulary
in a few days using simple memory techniques that involve
word association, interactive quizzes and basic learning principles
to maximize retention and recall. As you effortlessly learn
vocabulary, grammar principles and sentence construction are
gradually taught and much easier to remember. Here’s an example:
You will be presented with words like this:
The Danish for CHAIR is STOL
Imagine someone STOLE your CHAIR
You imagine this picture in your mind’s eye as vividly as
possible.
After you have read the image, you should picture it for
about 10 seconds before going on to the next word. If you
do not spend enough time thinking about the image, it will
not stick in your memory as well as it should.
|
• Why is learning with the Linkword Method
so quick and easy?
Because Linkword courses are unique in not only teaching
what to learn, but how to remember what you learn. This is
done through the use of images, which make you link the English
word to another word which sounds like the foreign word you
want to remember. For example, the Danish for CHAIR is STOL
(pronounced STOAL). Imagine someone who STOLE my CHAIR. Your
mind makes the connection between a stolen chair image, and
the Danish word “stol.” |
• Will the Linkword courses make me fluent?
It will not make you fluent – you would need to spend months
in the foreign country to attain that degree of facility –
but it will help considerably in a large number of situations
you are likely to meet while visiting the country. To consolidate
your learning, it is highly desirable that you go over the
course again a day or two after you have finished, and then
a month or so later. Once learned, relearning is amazingly
rapid, so even if you do not use the course for a long period
of time, a review should get you back to almost where you
were before.
|
• What else should I keep in mind as I apply
what I have learned?
It’s important to appreciate that no one gets all the words
right. What is important is not the words you don’t get, but
all the words you do learn. When you visit a foreign country,
you will find that what you have learned considerably adds
to the pleasure of your trip. Use what you have learned. Your
hosts will appreciate that you have tried to learn their language,
even if you make a mistake now and then. |
• Why do the pages so plain?
Dr. Gruneberg (the creator of the Linkword Method) has done

• Why are the colors black and yellow?
Dr. Gruneberg (the creator of the Linkword Method) has done

black background and yellow lettering significantly contributes
to an increase in learning and retention.
